Common Questions...
What do I require to be married in Ontario?
To be married in Ontario you must be 18 years of age. You require a marriage license and must have two witnesses over the age of 18 witness your marriage.  A marriage license can be purchased at the clerks office in city hall, and is good for 90 days. There is no waiting period in Ontario to be married. i.e. you can be married the same day as you purchase your license.

When should I book my Officiant?
As soon as you book your venue you should then book your Officiant. Summer months are busier than others. One year in advance is not too early to book. Off season weddings (November-April) do not require booking so far in advance. A good rule of thumb is As soon as you know the date of your wedding book your Officiant.

Do I need to meet with you prior to booking?
No you don’t however; most brides and grooms choose to meet with me prior to booking. This is your special day, created by you, and it is important that you are comfortable with your Officiant.  This allows for the opportunity to create great rapport and a fun and ease-filled wedding day!

Do we have a wedding rehearsal?
Your wedding rehearsal may be a part of my attendance and presence with you.  Be sure to include the time and location with your registration.  It is not mandatory, however, highly recommended!

What time will the Officiant arrive?
I arrive within one half hour prior to the start time of your ceremony and leave about 30 minutes after the designated time. If there is a significant delay in starting the ceremony it may be necessary to shorten it. If I have another wedding to attend and your delay is extremely long I may have to leave and return at a later time. There would be an additional fee for this.

What name do I use to sign my marriage documents?
You sign with the same name used to obtain your license. After that you may sign with your assumed married name.
